Welcome to Kindergarten!  We are off to a great start.  We have been learning color words and how to write our names correctly.  In September we will now begin to learn the letters and sounds of the alphabet.  We hope to see you all at the Open House on September 3rd from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  Also, our first parent workshop will be held at the end of September.  We will discuss Reading Skills and how you can help at home.

Our last Parent Workshop for this year was held April 30th.  We discussed First Grade Readiness Skills.  Thank you to all the parents who attended.  This month we will continue to review our alphabet, read a n write using the sounds we hear and know, and tell time by the hour.  Our theme this month is "Ocean".  If you happen to go  to  the beach, we would love for your child to share with us something he/she found.  Have a great summer! 

Kindergarten enjoyed a fun filled trip to the Lowry Park Zoo.  Thank you to all the parents who went with us.  This month we have been finishing up learning number words, identifying sets for numbers 0-12.  We have also been working on blending sounds that we hear to form simple words, and writing phrases and short sentences in our journals.  Our last Parent Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, April 30th at 5:30pm in the Media Center.  The topic will be readiness skills for 1st grade.  We hope to see you there.  Happy Easter and enjoy Spring Break!
