We are all looking forward to a musical year here at Thonotosassa Elementary.  We have recorder-flute classes for the upper grades and chorus for all of our students.  We hope that all parents come to our recitals and enjoy the magic of our children's musical talents.

Several music students will be performing on the large stare at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center on May 18th.  Both the singers and the recorder players from Thonotosassa Elementary will be represented in the All County Chorus and the All County Recorder Group. 

May 19th  here at Thonotosassa, Kindergarten through 5th grade students will be performing on the court.  They will be singing, dancing, and playing instruments.  The show will begin at 6:30pm and you will need to bring a chair to sit in and your child a towel or blanket to sit on.  Family and friends are invited to sit around the court.  The strings program will also perform. 

We have learned so much this year in music class and are waiting to share our program with you.  Rumor has it that John Travolta will make a brief appearance, but Mrs Dobbs says that this rumor is not true.  Come and find out! 

The third and fourth graders are practicing "Pomp and Circumstance" on their recorder flutes in preparation for the 5th grade end of the year banquet.  We have all had fun playing baritone ukuleles on the C and C7 chords.  It was also fun learning how to hop on the beat of bamboo poles, "One-Two, In-In".  We all had extra fun during March, Music In Our Schools Month.  Have you heard your child sing "Mary Mack"?
