The Forney Ridge Trail is a
beautiful way to get to the top of Clingman's Dome - the highest point
in the park. It's steep in places, but not nearly as insane as the
Chimney Tops Trail, so I didn't have to edit myself into the picture -
that's really me up there! This picture was taken along the Appalachian
Trail at Siler's Bald. We took this same trail the other way last
year and went to Andrew's Bald. The kids are grinning because they're
missing the first day of school.
